Indeed there are at least three good reasons why this city has come to be so loved. First of all, it has a wealth of exceptional monuments. Added to that are the countless attractions it offers. Finally, Verona's most important claim to fame is perhaps that it provides the setting for Shakespeare's moving and romantic play, "Romeo and Juliet", which is worshipped and revered by lovers from all over the world.

The "Arena di Verona", the biggest lyrical theatre in the world. Twenty centuries of history and twenty thousand spectators every evening for the whole summer. For more than eighty years the Arena has staged the most evocative, impressive, stirring opera in the world. Every year the programme includes operas, recitals and ballets.
